SEM works by placing ads on search engines such as Google or Bing that people can click and that will lead them to the advertiser’s website. These are the ads at the very top of the screen that are labeled ‘sponsored or ‘ad.’ These advertisements are activated by specific words typed into a search box by the user. Businesses can therefore advertise particular keywords that best describe their niche areas and source for potential customers. This makes SEM an effective medium through which high-quality customer leads can be recruited and the likelihood of making sales guarantees.
